Guests also included current and fomer staff and current students of The University of Queensland's School of Chemistry & Molecular Biosciences.

They socialised with old friends, took in a curator-guided gallery tour and heard about the research being underaken by two of the School's PhD students.

The guest speaker was Professor Robert Henry, a Biochemistry (Honours) graduate from 1977, now Director of the Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation.

Professor Henry argued that UQ has humble origins but that it has now exploded onto the global scene, particularly in regard to its scientific research.
