Academic Advice and Help
Academic Advising Sessions for your study program are available via appointment through the Science Faculty office to discuss enrolment and course selection issues with academic staff.
Advisors are able to answer questions on a broad range of topics including course selection and structure, choice of field of study, credit for previous studies, prerequisite courses, academic withdrawal, and exchange and study abroad studies.
Although advising sessions are available throughout the year, during popular advising periods appointment times can become limited, so it is recommended to book early in semester. Appointments may be made by phone on 3365 1888 or personally at the Faculty office on Level 2, Building 69.
If you are having problems with workload, illness, or other pressures, we encourage you to talk to an academic advisor. Student Services also offers extensive professional assistance to students experiencing financial, academic, or personal difficulties. The University of Queensland Union offers members assistance with academic, welfare and legal issues.
Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS)
The school offers Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) to its large first year classes, a program whereby trained second and third year students provide regular tutorial assistance to first year students.
