Researcher biography

After completing my BPharm in 2007 at the University of Development Alternative, Dhaka, Bangladesh, I joined the Department of Pharmacy there as a teaching assistant for two years. Later, I went to Chungju National University, South Korea, and successfully completed an MSc in Chemical and Biological Engineering. My MSc research was focused on nanocarrier drug delivery systems for anti-cancer drugs. I earned my Ph.D. in the School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences at the University of Queensland, Australia under the guidance of Assoc Prof Vito Ferro and co-supervisors Dr John Tsanaktsidis (CSIRO), Prof Paul Monagle and Assoc Prof Vera Ignjatovic (University of Melbourne/Murdoch Children's Research Institute) in 2019. My Ph.D. studies were focused on the synthesis and biological evaluation of novel polymers by RAFT polymerization. Currently, I have been working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Vito Feorro's group on carbohydrate chemistry in particular on the synthesis of monosacchrides to treat Mucopolysaccharidosis IIIA & IIIB.
