Academic prize winners honoured

Twenty-four SCMB students and graduates who achieved outstanding results in 2014 were honoured at the School of Chemistry & Molecular Biosciences Student Awards Evening on Wednesday, 20th May 2015.  

The winners received prizes including cash, books, a medal, and membership of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute.

Several Research Higher Degree students received competitive travel grants.

A number of prizes were presented by or on behalf of valued industry and alumni sponsors.

Guest speaker, Professor Ginny Barbour, Executive Officer of the Australian Open Access Support Group, spoke of her career in science and scientific publishing.  She told the audience that studying science can lead to many interesting careers.

After the formalities, guests enjoyed a cocktail function at the awards venue, the UQ Art Musuem.
