You can study honours as a single year after completing the three-year Bachelor of Science (BSc) or three-year Bachelor of Biotechnology (BBiotech) degrees, or as the final year of a four-year Bachelor of Advanced Science (BAdvSc) program.

What's involved

You'll pursue formal coursework and an individual research project under the supervision of a School academic or qualified external supervisor. 

Undertaking honours will:

  • provide you with invaluable in-depth training, particularly in the areas of research methods, problem solving and communication skills
  • help you develop and demonstrate your capabilities for critical thought
  • prepare you for a research higher degree.
