Speaker: Dr Daniel Rawle (QIMRB)

Bio: Dr. Daniel Rawle leads the Emerging Viral Diseases Lab at QIMR Berghofer. He has over 11 years of experience working with PC3 viruses, including SARS-CoV-2, Japanese encephalitis virus, Chikungunya virus, West Nile virus, and HIV. His research focuses on uncovering the mechanisms of viral infection and immunopathology, aiming to identify targets for the development of new antivirals, anti-inflammatories, and vaccines, to combat emerging and re-emerging viral threats, particularly arboviruses.

About School research seminars

Seminars cover all aspects of chemistry and molecular biosciences and are delivered by visiting national and international academics. PhD completion seminars are also incorporated into the program.

Seminars are usually held in person and occasionally via zoom. All are welcome to attend.
