Title: Novel Biomarkers in Oesophageal Cancer

Speaker: Dr Lauren Aoude, UQ Frazer Institute 

Bio: Dr Lauren Aoude is a researcher at UQ Frazer Institute. Her research program explores barriers to precision oncology and establishes more accurate prognostics to enhance therapeutic options for oesophageal adenocarcinoma and melanoma patients. Recent work includes the establishment of patient-derived organoid models to enable a personalised medicine approach. In 2025, she was awarded an NHMRC Emerging Leader Fellowship. Her program is to better inform treatment decisions and improve health outcomes for patients through the integration of genomics into the clinic. 

About School research seminars

Seminars cover all aspects of chemistry and molecular biosciences and are delivered by visiting national and international academics. PhD completion seminars are also incorporated into the program.

Seminars are usually held in person and occasionally via zoom. All are welcome to attend.
