PhD student, Connor Scott, aims to develop broad spectrum therapeutics and vaccines for dengue virus using safe chimeric virus particles.
His work focuses on understanding the different structures of dengue virus and translating this knowledge for vaccine design.
He has developed candidate therapeutics for dengue using the chimeric particles and has had successful results in animal models of dengue infection. Future work is focusing on structural characterisation of antibody and virus interactions and development of broad-spectrum therapies for flaviviruses.
