Peter coordinates and maintains the Elemental Analysis (EA) facility to serve the needs of researchers in the School, and provides routine technical and scientific support to researchers in the area of mass spectrometry (MS), under the direction of the Mass Spectrometry Facility Manager.
He helps maintain instruments and organises engineer support for EA and MS facilities when required. He provides advice on sample preparation and interpretation of EA and MS data as needed.
Peter contributes to the development of funding applications to support the purchase of new equipment for EA, MS and other general scientific school equipment, and serves as an IATA certified Dangerous Goods shipper for SCMB staff (advise, supervise, certify shipping of DG and biological goods). Peter is a fire warden for the Molecular Biosciences Building.
