Widespread discrepancy in mouse genetic backgrounds complicates Chikungunya virus, SARS-CoV-2 and other mouse studies
Dr. Rawle started his virology career doing Honours in Professor Alex Khromykh’s lab at UQ in 2014, working on West Nile virus virulence determinants. He then moved to QIMR and did his PhD in the HIV Molecular Virology lab working on virus-host interactions. After a short stint in the Evolutionary Virology lab at QUT he started as a postdoc in the Inflammation Biology lab at QIMR led by Professor Andreas Suhrbier in 2019. He now leads a series of alphavirus, flavivirus and coronavirus projects.
About School research seminars
Seminars cover all aspects of chemistry and molecular biosciences and are delivered by visiting national and international academics. PhD completion seminars are also incorporated into the program.
Seminars are usually held in person and occasionally via zoom. All are welcome to attend.
